We were just notified that applications are now out for this winter's Crafty Feast event in Columbia, SC. This was one of our absolute favorites last year and we're excited to re-apply again for this year's show set for Dec. 11 at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center. Fingers crossed!

From the Crafty Feast website:

"Crafty Feast is a 100% handmade, juried, independent craft fair in Columbia, South Carolina. Our goal is to bring unique and funky crafts from around the region in a 1-day festival format. The first festival was held on May 20th, 2009."

That being said, we just came across a new blog post Crafty Feast made that offers some really great tips for product photography. It's all about lighting, contrast, angles, avoiding filters, close-ups. The basics are the types of things many people forget sometimes when trying so hard to make their wares stand out.

We were honored to see that their blog post pointed toward Oak Leaf Pottery as an example of using natural light to your advantage during photo shoots. Check out their post! They also included a few great examples from some other amazing makers. Check out Elizabeth B. Ceramics and Once Again Sam.
